Attending Vendors:We will update the vendors list, when we have a complete list of attendees.Dear Vendors, Ethan Allen Days has been a wonderful historic re-enactment event in Vermont for over twenty years. In 2009, the Bennington Rotary brought this exciting event to Bennington, Vermont as the Ethan Allen Colonial Fair. We are excited to announce that we are hosting this event again in 2010. Bennington is uniquely situated to host this event. Ethan Allen lived in Bennington (his homestead site is 1.3 miles from the fairgrounds) and it was here that he planned many of the activities of the Green Mountain Boys, including his historic capture of Fort Ticonderoga. Bennington has many historical sites and monuments and is positioned at the intersection of Vermont Route 9 and US Highway 7, two major transportation corridors to and in the region. Like last year, the event will be held at Colgate Park on the lovely west end of Bennington right on Vermont Route 9. We are making some important changes to last year’s fair which we hope will increase attendance. First, we are moving the date of the fair from June, to October, to take advantage of Bennington’s foliage season, when literally thousands of people come into town. As seen above, the dates of the fair coincide with the three day Columbus Day weekend, giving people more time to come to and enjoy the fair. We are lowering our admission price from $10 per adult and $5 per child (6-12) to $5 per adult and $1 per child (6-12). We think that these prices will make the fair competitive with any other event. Lastly, we are inviting the Re-enactors to remain on site until Monday. So instead of spending Sunday afternoon packing and up and leaving, they will be able to remain encamped and on display. We hope this will encourage people to stay at the fair longer. Our intention is to supplement the re-enactment by creating an authentic looking country fair just as it would have looked during the colonial era. A big part of that effort is to host purveyors of unique, rare and high quality merchandise. We invite you to consider renting a booth and bringing your fine wares to our fair. Please check our website for more information. And please feel free to call me with any questions. Our best regards, |
